Jeddah — May 2, 2026: In a move reflecting its commitment to supporting digital transformation and empowering national talent, StartSmart Saudi participated in two Artificial Intelligence (AI) -oriented events. They focused on harnessing AI tools to build innovative solutions that serve the local economy and align with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
The first participation included hosting the “AI Innovation Bootcamp”, organized by Google Developer Group from the University of Jeddah. Spanning five days from May 2nd to May 6th, the bootcamp featured diverse workshops that introduced participants to utilizing Google AI tools in developing integrated technical solutions—from initial ideas and prototyping, to pitching a viable startup.
Beyond hosting the event, Startsmart Saudi enriched the training content of the bootcamp by organizing a special session featuring Abdullah Alrashed, a StartSmart Saudi beneficiary. He shared his real-world experience, providing participants with field-tested expertise and a clear vision of how to navigate challenges within the tech market.
Furthermore, StartSmart participated in the judging panel to evaluate outcomes based on technical quality, economic feasibility, and alignment with current market needs, ensuring that participants emerged with value-added, investment-ready projects.
In a related context, the Startsmart Saudi boosted its presence in the ecosystem by participating as a strategic partner in organizing the "Jeddah's AI Vibe Coding Hackathon", which focused on integrating AI into modern programming processes. The hackathon welcomed 88 participants, including founders, students, and professionals, divided into 32 teams. They competed to develop smart solutions across the sectors of education, work, and health.
In the Hackathon's last day, the winners were announced, and they included the 1st Place: PitchIQ in the Future of Work category, by Abdullah Ahmed and Abdo Ahmed. The 2nd Place S.pace in Education Tech, by Abdul Mohsen Hatami, Adel Ahsan, and Abdul Rahman Al-Qadi. Two projects shared the 3rd place, namely, VoWPlay in Education Tech by Haider Ali, Ihsan Ahmed, and Ahmed Al-Dakhil; and MedscribeAI project in HealthTech by Talia Al-Marzouki and Mariam Hafez.

Commenting on these initiatives, Mr. Mohammed Abdulghaffar, Senior General Manager of Initiatives at the Community Jameel Saudi Foundation, stated: "Our presence in these events stems from our belief that AI is a fundamental pillar for the future of business, not just a passing tech trend. Through StartSmart Saudi’s programs, we always strive to create a proper environment that allows entrepreneurs and innovators to access the latest tools and expertise, enabling them to compete at both local and regional levels."
These participations are part of the StartSmart Saudi strategy to build bridges between academic institutions, tech communities, and the labor market. This ensures a sustainable flow of ideas and solutions while fostering the technical talent necessary to support the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Saudi Arabia.
